SACRED WOMEN RETREAT- VÉZELAY, FRANCE

Dreaming our Sacred Women Retreat — Vézelay, France

At the height of summer — around the Summer Solstice on the 21st of June — we will gather for our annual Sacred Women’s Retreat in Vézelay, a place steeped in mystery and devotion. A mystical place known as one of the ancient pathways of the Camino de Santiago and deeply connected to the lineage of Mary Magdalene.

In this powerful landscape of rolling hills, wild forests, and flowing rivers, we will rejoice together, in each other’s company, to explore the mysteries of the sacred feminine — her cycles of descent and return, her wisdom of embodiment, devotion, and awakening.

Together, we will remember the teachings that live in the body, in the Earth, and in the silence between words.

This next retreat will be a co-creative journey - one that begins now, in the dreaming time.  This annal retreat has become a ressource for many women over the last 6 years, a place to regenarate, rest, undo, relax, unplug and fill up your cup with sisterhood, womb yoga & feminine embodiment practices, nature rituals, cacao ceremonies, mantra & sharing circles, self-care practices, art therapy, and most of all a remembrance of our deep interconnectedness with Mother Nature. We as women are a loving & supporting forest, nourishing & mothering each other, with unconditional love and authenticity and the absence of judgment. And once a year, we meet to strengthen our bonds and roots, laugh, cry, share, create and ‘be’ together on a sacred land.

This year our Sacred Women retreat will unfold at the Moulin de Vézelay, a beautifully restored watermill nestled in the lush, green heart of Burgundy. The land itself feels alive -spacious gardens, winding paths leading to hidden corners for quiet reflection at the river -the steady murmur of water reminding us of life’s continuous flow.

There is an outdoor swimming pool for moments of lightness and rest, and plenty of quiet spots in nature for practice, meditation, qi qong, cacao circles, yoga nidra, reading, journalling or simply breathing with the trees.

The venue of the Moulin is a place that welcomes both stillness and celebration, retreat and renewal - the perfect sanctuary to gather, remember, and reawaken the sacred feminine together.

The Moulin is located at only 5km form Vézelay, which will allow us to walk just like the pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago to climb the last 100metres up to the Basilica Marie Madeleine de Vézelay.

This UNESCO heritage Cathedral and it’s ancient cobble stone streets scent of long forgotten times and fleeting memories of 1000’s of pilgrims, and as you climb up to the Cathedral you feel yourself being carried towards the luminous Basilica. The most powerful part of the Basilica for me personally is the underground crypt where relics of Mary Magdalene are being preserved. The womb of the church where you can feel her heartbeat. A space that feels for me like a vortex of love energy and a deep remembrance of the Divine Feminine mysteries.

I would love this retreat to be a co-creation, a weaving of our collective dreams and intentions.

So let us begin this pilgrimage within — the journey from darkness into light, from Samhain’s fertile void to the Solstice’s radiant bloom — walking, as Mary Magdalene once did, the path of remembrance, devotion, and sacred return to the light.

“The mothers who remind us, no matter who we are, that our first country was a woman’s body, and our first element was water, and that our first reality was darkness.”

“If how we see, truly see, is not with eyesight, but with a vision, a form of spiritual perception that allows us to know what’s real, what’s lasting, what’s actually true, if this comes from within us; then no one has power over us.”
